It’s the constant shaking and the brutal heat cycles of a high-speed PET line. Standard lamps just aren’t built for that kind of stress. They crack. They pop. And they leave you staring at a downed line. We decided to fix that. We built these lamps as direct drop-in replacements for SIG systems, but we changed how they’re actually made. Most quartz tubes give up the ghost at the pinch seal or where the electrode hits the glass. So, we toughened up the glass envelope. We tweaked the wall thickness and used higher-purity quartz so the lamps can take a beating without losing their seal. It’s a simpler, sturdier build that doesn’t freak out when the machinery starts vibrating. Now, let’s talk heat. These are designed for high-intensity shortwave infrared. The goal is to get your PET preforms to that sweet spot—the glass transition temperature—fast and evenly. But here’s the catch: you’ve got to keep your cooling fans clean. If your airflow is choked, it doesn’t matter how tough the glass is; the lamp will overheat and blow. Keep the dust out, and these things will hum. Installing them is the easy part. We kept the standard footprints, so you don’t have to mess with your oven’s wiring. We also tightened the tolerances on the connectors to stop arcing at the terminals—which is usually why end-caps fail in the first place. Stop wasting your time swapping out the same lamp every few weeks. Switch to a reinforced build, set your temperature profiles, and just let the line run. It’s a lot less stressful for everyone.
