
Putting a 1500W infrared heater in a gazebo ceiling is a bit of a gamble. You’ve got intense heat fighting against damp air, humidity, and all the random dust and bugs that float around outdoors. Most heaters just aren’t built for that kind of stress. We knew that, so we built this unit to actually survive it. Dealing with the damp Here’s the problem: standard indoor heaters die fast in a gazebo because moisture just sneaks into the housing. To stop that, we used a splash-proof chassis and sealed off the electrical junctions. It means you don’t have to panic during a light drizzle or a foggy night. We also added an anti-fogging layer to the quartz glass. If water drops hit a scorching hot element, the glass can get tiny micro-cracks from the shock. Our coating stops that from happening. How the heat actually works At 1500W, this thing is powerful. But instead of trying to warm up the entire outdoors—which is impossible—it sends short-wave radiation straight down. It warms you and your guests, not the air. Plus, we used a high-grade reflector to keep that heat focused downward. It keeps the warmth where you want it and stops your gazebo roof from soaking up all the energy. A quick word on safety Because it’s a compact unit packing a lot of punch, the casing gets hot. Seriously hot. Please, don’t mount this directly against thin plastic liners or PVC. Give it at least 30cm of breathing room from the ceiling material. If you jam it too tight against the roof, you’re looking at warped plastic or, worse, a fire hazard. Just give it some space. Keeping it running Since we’ve blocked out the moisture and stopped the glass from spotting, these elements last a lot longer. You won’t deal with that annoying premature burnout you see in cheaper models. The only thing you really need to do is keep the reflector clean. Dust builds up and can kill your heat output by 10-15%. A quick wipe-down once a season is all it takes to keep it feeling like new.
