Let’s be honest: OEM lamp costs can be a nightmare. But when you’re running Krones Contiform blowers, you can’t just throw any old bulb in there. You need that PET preform to soften exactly right, or you’re looking at a mess of uneven walls and wasted plastic. We built our replacement lamps to be a simple, direct swap. No headaches, no modifications. The heat side of things Here’s the thing about heat density: you can’t cut corners on voltage or wattage. If you go too low, the preform never hits that sweet spot—the glass transition temperature—and you end up with “pearling” or bottles that just won’t stretch. To stop that from happening, we use high-purity quartz glass. It’s tough. It handles the brutal thermal shock of rapid cycling without cracking, pushing infrared energy deep into the PET wall exactly when it needs to be there. Fitting them in Nobody wants to spend their afternoon rewiring a machine. That’s why we stick to standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. They just slide right into your existing sockets. We also add a specific coating to the quartz. Instead of letting heat bleed out and warm up your machine frame, the coating focuses that energy right where it belongs: on the preform. And we’re obsessive about the length. If a lamp is even a tiny bit too short, it rattles. And in a high-speed line, vibration is a filament killer. Ours fit snugly. A quick heads-up These things put out a massive amount of heat. Because of that, you’ve got to make sure your cooling blowers are actually doing their job. If your airflow is clogged or weak, a 2500W+ tube can get hot enough to fry your wiring or melt the lamp holder. Keep those fans clean. At the end of the day, it’s about keeping the line moving at full speed while spending way less on maintenance. You get the same output, the same footprint, and a much happier accounting department.
