Introduction
We built these heat-preserving quartz tubes for one reason: the real world of a busy commercial pizza oven. They put out focused infrared heat that moves exactly where you need it, so you stop wrestling with dry, over-baked pizzas. The whole point? Keep the moisture locked in—without giving up that crisp, perfect crust.
The Power Behind the Heat
Inside is a high-output infrared heating element, built to deliver heat fast and with real focus. It runs on 400V, which gives it the extra voltage headroom to stay steady on industrial power. That high-voltage setup is why the tube can crank out serious energy density—so the temperature snaps back quickly and stays consistent, even when the oven door keeps opening and closing. And the size? We shaped it to drop straight into standard oven cavities, so swapping one in is straightforward, not a project.
Why Quartz, and Why It Matters
Quartz is the base material because it handles rapid heating and cooling cycles without flinching, and it passes infrared energy cleanly. The coating is chosen to tune the infrared spectrum, aiming the heat right where it helps most: at the food surface, not the air inside the oven. That targeted approach is what helps you hold onto moisture. For connections, we went with an R7s connector—simple, secure, and built for the vibration and thermal expansion you get in a busy kitchen. And inside the tube, a halogen-filled environment keeps the filament stable, so it can handle high temperatures day after day.
What It Feels Like in a Pizza Oven
In practice, the tube gives you heat you can control—enough to cook toppings and set the crust, without turning the oven into a dehydrator. The infrared profile hits the dough surface fast, forming a barrier that traps steam inside. The payoff is a crisp outside and a moist inside, every time. And because the heat profile holds steady once you set it, you get repeatable performance shift after shift. One thing to keep in mind: the high heat density means the oven’s cooling and ventilation have to be properly matched. If they’re not, surrounding parts can run hotter than you’d expect. But when everything is spec’d right, the installation stays clean, the thermal behavior stays predictable, and you get fewer service calls.
